# Picture editing

> The gateway requires `model`, `images` and `prompt` to be passed in explicitly. GPT Image accepts up to 16 reference images; `dall-e-2` only accepts a single PNG input; `dall-e-3` does not support editing.

GPT Image 2/2.5 supports any compliance `WIDTHxHEIGHT`, other GPT Images use the standard three sizes. `input_fidelity`, `background`, `moderation`, `output_format`, `output_compression`, `stream` and `partial_images` are only used for GPT Image series.
